Minnehaha Country Club is celebrating our 120th year of operations and is Sioux Falls’ premier country club, operates year-round and serves a membership of approximately 740 families. The Club features an immaculate championship 18-hole golf course and one of the finest restaurants in Sioux Falls, as well as swimming, tennis, and fitness amenities.

The Grounds Maintenance team at Minnehaha is unique and always looking to find individuals who work well with others and enjoy being outside. We have a great culture with passionate associates who like to have fun at work. Seasonal position openings can fill quickly in the winter, but openings can also happen any time, including the middle or end of the season. We have many part-time positions and often have positions open for entry level to experienced equipment operators. For some, this is the ideal part-time or seasonal position. The Greenskeepers, under the direction of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents, perform all of the necessary maintenance to the golf course and club grounds to provide the highest level of turf conditioning and aesthetics. The Grounds Maintenance team has little interaction with members as we strive to complete the necessary work ahead of daily play. Our work is mostly performed in the early morning hours in all types of weather throughout the golf season. Our strength is in our diversity and flexibility as we have many associates that perform multiple tasks that fit within their abilities and schedule. Duties include; mowing and maintaining green, tee, fairway and rough turfgrasses, machine and hand grooming bunker areas, fly mowing, push mowing, edging, string trimming, blowing debris, and other general light-duty tasks. We have a strong fleet of equipment to maintain the golf course. Extensive training is provided to ensure safety and provide the confidence required to complete each task at a high level.

Compensation and Benefits

• Greenskeeper positions range from $15.00-$18.00 per hour.

Knowledge, Experience and Abilities

• No previous education or experience required, but prior outside work experience is ideal.
• Friendly and welcoming personality.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Hard working and detail oriented.
• Must maintain a positive, professional attitude, and appearance.
• A basic knowledge and understanding of golf is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to work in the early morning (sunrise).
• Available to work flexible hours (weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, potential holidays).
• Availability to work seasonally in the spring and fall months is highly beneficial.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The Greenskeeper hours are usually set up in 3-8 hour shifts (flexible) that start prior to sunrise each day.
• Schedules can be unique and adjusted differently for each associate once the associate completes the required training for certain tasks.
• You must be able to reach, bend, stretch, twist, and stand.
• You must be able to push and lift up to 40 pounds safely, must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable an individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
• May be asked to work in fluctuating outside weather conditions to properly fulfill job duties while seeking shelter within severe weather conditions should they arrive.
